
SMBC Aviation Capital has placed firm orders for a total of 200 narrowbody aircraft from Airbus and Boeing during the 2026 Farnborough International Airshow.
The company ordered 100 Airbus A320neo Family aircraft, comprising 65 A321neos and 35 A320neos. With the latest agreement, the combined Airbus orders and commitments of SMBC Aviation Capital and its parent company, Sumitomo Corporation, have surpassed 900 aircraft.
The Boeing order also covers 100 aircraft, including 60 737-10s and 40 737-8s. The deal marks SMBC Aviation Capital’s first order for the 737-10 and represents the largest 737-10 order ever placed by an aircraft leasing company.
The company’s total portfolio of owned, managed, and ordered 737 MAX aircraft has now increased to 450.
